WE ARE OFFICIALLY SOLD OUT!!! - I would like to thank all of our guests for supporting us because, with out you... we could not have these extra lan parties in between LAN Fest events. 

I would like to mention the potential capacity we have have at GEL. We have the potential of having 100 seats total for this event, but because Friday will be packed with Great Escape Games normal business operations we can not offer more seats above 80 until Friday Midnight.

SO! If you would like to attend our awesome LAN but missed getting a seat beforehand, dont worry, we have plenty of extra seats for walk-in attendees!

SUPRISE!!!! Great Escape LAN Winter 2012 will now be starting on Friday (Jan 13th, 2012) at 8:00pm! Now that we have Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Thats an extra 15 hours of more game time for those who want to show up early on Friday!

Official Date and Times for GEL#2 are:

Minecraft Contraption Event!

Greetings Everyone! I have put together another event for Minecraft. We had a nice handful of people enter in the last Minecraft Event for the 1st Great Escape LAN. This time I am mixing it up a bit.

Introducing: The Great Escape LAN Mincraft Contraption Event!

What is it?: Players have 2 weeks (starting now) to make the most interesting contraption they can on the Great Escape LAN Minecraft Server.

When is it?: Starting now 01/01/2012 till 01/14/2012 (Judgement Day)

Where is it?: Address to connect... mc.greatescapelan.org
Just hop on the server and go through the portal. You may build anywhere you want in the "Event World".

Judging?: After the 2 weeks are up, everyone should be at the LAN for Judgement Day. Players will demo off what they made and how it works over the Projector to an Audience. Once all Players have have shown off their work, the audience will decide the winner!

Requirements?: Redstone... redstone... REDSTONE! This is a contraption event, I want to see awesome redstone technology skills create some interesting devices. Oh yeah, and you must show up at the LAN to win.

Rules: Just use common sense and dont grief. Obey the general server rules or face the ban hammer.

Prize?: YES There will be prizes this time if we have enough people enter into the event :D

So what are you waiting for? LETS SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO!!!!

Official Tournaments!

Happy New Year Everyone!
Official Tournaments for Great Escape LAN Winter 2012 are the following:

Battlefield 3 - 4x4x4x4 Squad Deathmatch
League of Legends - Single Elimination
Starcraft 2 - Single Elimination
Team Fortress 2 - 6v6 Single Elimination

The schedule is still being worked on and I will post it as soon as its complete. Also Tournament sign-ups will begin at check in for all tourneys that are on Saturday. This way we shouldn't miss anyone who wants to play in our tourneys and will also give us a better visual of who plays what and we can make sure we improve tourny schedules for the next event.

What is a LAN Event/Party?: A LAN Event or LAN Party is where gamers gather and come together with their PC's, connect the PC's together through an extremely fast network, and play games with little to no Latency or Lag. LAN's are really fun and good way to meet new gamers, make friends, win prizes, and show off your custom designed PC (or get help with anything PC Gaming related).

About Us:
Great Escape LAN is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing awesome, fun, and friendly gaming among friends and family. All money and proceeds made from the event will be donated to charity (United Way of Sacramento) to help support our community and those in need. Great Escape LAN is meant to be a Family Friendly Event/Environment. Alcohol is ABSOLUTELY NOT ALLOWED in or around the event. With us being a family friendly event, we are not focused on competitive types of events or game play(e-sports). We do run a couple friendly tournaments for the sole purpose of entertainment. There will be a raffle and an event inspired prize give away for registered guests and participants only. For complete rules and regulations please review our rules section on the Great Escape LAN website and read over our Waiver Form. All attending guests must completely read, review, sign, and bring the waiver at check-in, in order to be let in the event. If you do not bring a waiver form, there will be extra ones on site.

Stuff to bring:
We at Great Escape LAN will provide switches, power strips, tables, and chairs. Please bring the following.

. Network cable (20 feet)
. Power cables for your rig (limited to 2 plugs on a power strip*)
. All your computer equipment (computer,keyboard, mouse, monitor, headphones etc NO SPEAKERS)
. (OPTIONAL) A chair of your own. (we have basic metal chairs provided)
. Food (We are requesting no coolers or ice boxes be brought into the Event. As our sponsor, Great Escape Games will be vending food, snacks and drinks at our event. Please help support Great Escape Games and respect thier request.)
. Sleeping stuff (if you plan to sleep)
. Game face (most important thing)
